IIMS, located in Kolkata, is a pioneering self-financed management institution in India since 1979. It holds the distinction of being the first institute in the country to receive AICTE approval in 1991 for its PGDBA program (equivalent to MBA) in DL mode, highlighting its commitment to excellence and outreach. In 2004, IIMS introduced a full-time MBA program affiliated with MAKAUT and approved by AICTE in Howrah district. Striving for the highest educational standards, IIMS made a significant advancement in 2011 by partnering with Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS) in New Zealand. AIS, a globally recognized management institute accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA), joined hands with IIMS to offer excellent educational programs and global research opportunities. In 2016, IIMS established an academic collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (UITM), one of the largest public universities in Malaysia. This partnership facilitates global projects, research activities, and academic collaboration in various fields. Furthermore, in 2019, IIMS signed an MOU with Hanoi Industrial Textile Garment University to conduct Techno-Management Research, engage in global education projects, establish cross-credit pathways, and more. In 2020, IIMS formed an association with Royal Education Group, Australia, focusing on Techno-Management Research, global projects, faculty exchange programs, and international conferences and seminars across different disciplines.
